But it’s more than just services. We foster connection through social events, gatherings, and a supportive community where members look out for each other. ▽ Is the Village a place you go to live? Is there a physical location?
The Village is neither a place you go to live nor a physical building. Rather, Village Collective is a community-based program that helps Coppell residents 50+ live independently through volunteer support, social connection, and access to local resources. Our goal is to help you stay in your own home while providing the resources to make that possible!
▽ Who can join?
Any Coppell resident age 50 or older is welcome to join as a member. Learn more about membership.
Volunteers are not required to live in Coppell but may be subject to additional requirements. Learn more about volunteering.
▽ What kinds of volunteer services are available?
Members can request curb-to-curb transportation, home maintenance assistance, and recurring wellness checks. If there is something else you would like assistance with, be sure to give us a call at 682-381-0487 and we will see what we can do! Anything you may ask of a helpful neighbor would be a great task for our volunteers!
▽ How are the volunteers vetted?
Volunteers complete our initial application and are then required to complete a background check. They go through a volunteer orientation and a training on Elder Abuse Awareness. Volunteers providing transportation are also responsible for providing proof of insurance and a current driver's license.
▽ How do I request services?
Once you become a member, you can request services online, by phone, or by contacting the Village Coordinator directly. Once submitted, volunteers will be able to view and pick up your requests. Members can submit as many requests as they like, and there is no additional cost associated with requesting or receiving services.
▽ Is there a cost to join?
Yes. There is an annual fee of 60$ per member. Services are provided at no additional cost. Certain events or activities may include an additional cost, but we try to keep all prices low and accessible. All fees are made transparent on our event calendar.
